Sunday, May 17

Well I really don't have much to say, just trying to pass some time at work. Its amazing how a hard, uncomfortable chair, a dark room and a snoring psychotic patient make for a long night. I can't get comfortable enough to "zone out". There isn't enough light to read, and NOTHING is holding my interest on-line tonight. Whats a girl to do?
I am starting to wonder how the future will work out for me. It is getting more and more difficult to work and watch a baby! My sanity is decreasing in equal proportion to her nap length... It seems that I find myself willing my nights of work to fly by so that I can get to that precious time when I am off and at home with LJ. I wish I could just quit my job, but then I'm sure my fleeting sanity would be non-existent. Plus, I think we would end up living in a cardboard box underneath a bridge somewhere... Probably not a good place to raise a baby.

Monday, May 4

Wow. I should get an award for not posting to this blog! Then again, I am a mommy now, with tons of things to do. Not that I posted a lot before I was a mommy, but oh well.
In comment to my earlier post, Yes! When you become a mommy you are equipped with super powers! I somehow find more time in the day now. Somehow, I am able to work, play, clean, play, change diapers, do laundry, play, feed and nurture my baby! And I probably feel less tired than I did before LJ! Well, not on days that I am working... thats a different story!
LJ is 8 months old now. She is absolutely amazing. She is crawling, sitting, feeding herself and trying desperately to walk! She can walk, while holding on to things, but not on her own. But, she is fearless. She thinks nothing of holding on with 1 finger, and then letting go. When she falls, she gets right back up... unless she is tired. Then she might cry!
LJ is a gift straight from heaven. She reminds me everyday that God is Great!

Thursday, February 5

Wow... here we are again... 6 months later... its February 5th... and yes we have a baby!
Its a girl. She was born on September 1st. She was 7lbs 3oz and 19 3/4". Hubby got a call early that morning that the alarm was going off at his work. I knew at that moment it was going to be a long night something wasn't right. At 0330 the contractions started. I told hubby to go to work early, cause we were going to have a baby! Fitting that it was Labor Day! He was supposed to work until 5 but ended up home by noon. Good thing! He got home and we left for the hospital. We got there a little before 2 and LJ was born at 4:51! It was quick and totally natural, just as I wanted. Thank God!
She is perfect in every way. I love her like crazy! I'll have to start writing more...

Tuesday, August 5

So it is August 5th. That officially puts me in my 9th month. Baby P is due 1 month from today! I am at work an seriously wondering how I'm going to make it through another month. I should only have about 20 nights of actual work left, but man thats a lot! I feel tired all of the time! I slept all night last night, then slept all day long. Now I'm exhausted again! My dear hubby is working opening shifts. He's probably actually up for work right now at 3:30ish. He will be doing this all week and next week. Our house is like a horror house... filled with ZOMBIES!
It makes me wonder how anything will ever get done. How will I get this house cleaned up before baby comes? How will I manage to keep it clean with a baby? Do I just become a mother and suddenly have super powers? I guess when baby comes I'll have a lot to do and a lot to ponder. Can I honestly keep working here, working nights? I guess when baby comes it will only be the beginning.

Thursday, July 31

Its getting close now. As of tomorrow there are only 5 weeks left until baby is due. Not that baby will necessarily come that day, but for sure by 10 days after that. Things are coming together slowly. Evan and I picked up the changing table yesterday and once that is put together, the nursery will be ready. Well I guess when we find out if baby is a boy or girl we'll be able to put some stuff on the walls to decorate. But, until then what we have is perfect!

Monday, July 14

Alrighty here we go again. Its been like a year... or more. No more code names or anything like that. I would start a new blog... but I really like what I named this one. So I'm just gonna change it.
My name is Amanda, not Nikolina (although it almost was that) and my husband's name is Evan, not Kevin. I am just changing all of this because once again my life is changing. In just 53 short days we are expecting Baby Clem, or BP to come into the world. I figured this would be a good way to put some pics out there and to keep people updated on his/her life.
Nope, we don't know if baby is a boy or a girl, and are super excited for his/her arrival! We have the nursery almost ready and just need to buy a few more things.
So if anybody starts reading this, be amused at how stupid I was in college, and how funny all of my code names are!
More to come...

We're buying a house! We're turning Irish! It even has green shingles!
